Cruise Journal

Sunday, January 27, 2013

It’s so funny because we all have interior rooms so you can’t tell if it’s still night time or what...so we all were quite surprised when we woke up and realized that it was so late. You don’t know if it’s 4am or 9am!

The day started off with a bang! Breakfast by the pool and then we headed to Club Fusion for a Zumba class! I didn’t make it thru the class, but Tierra, Curtis, Nailah did there thing! Even Mikalyn was getting her Zumba on!

Immediately after that they had a rehearsal for a Flash Mob Line Dance that’s going to take place on the final part of the cruise! Now you know we gotta take part in that!

By this time we are all sweaty and tired, but had serious work to do. We collected all of our goods and headed to cabin C621 to organize the gifts and donations for the friends in Roatan, Belize and Cozumel. It was hard and tiring work! We didn’t realize how much we had collected! But it was quite rewarding to see the fruits of everyone’s labor.  We collected 127 ties and over 125 pieces of jewelry!

While we were working on the gift bags, Gordon and Dave were playing in a basketball tournament. They didn’t win...(shhhh I didn’t tell you that), but had fun nonetheless. LOL

The girls then headed to the deck for some lunch and sun. It was an eventful time because it was a little windy on the deck and so we were ready to head back inside when Ms. Nailah was putting on her shoes when her hat (which coordinated very well with her outfit) flew off of her head. I was waiting for her looking towards the pool when I heard “Erika!” I turned to see her going after her hat! She then grabbed it and lifted her head, and hit her head on the deck railing!!!! Poor girl! I told her that it was going in the blog! Don’t worry, no Nailah’s were injured during this event!

We then headed inside to conference room where we had the opportunity to discuss the Watchtower for the week. It was quite an encouraging discussion which I think re-invigorated everyone a little.

We headed back to our cabins or where ever and got ready for our Formal Captain’s Dinner. Everyone looked so nice, and we had a wonderful dinner! (Except for Tierra’s “dirt bread". You must ask her about her “dirt bread") It was awesome!!!!! Afterwards we took some formal pictures together and then once again went our separate ways.

The old heads went to the Princess Theater to watch the Disco production. After we were heading to Skywalkers Club to check it out, when someone spotted us and said, “Pittsburgh!” “They need you in there for karaoke!” In fact, we were recognized all day! “Weren’t you the ones that sang Purple Rain” or “I enjoyed you guys so much last night, we were screaming!” I think that we all deserve a paycheck for entertainment.

We finally were able to get to the Club where Dave and I tore up the floor with some Cha Cha Slide and Cupid Shuffle. I then had to let Dave do his thing with the Wobble.

Finally broke down from the long day and headed back to the cabin.
